Hello, I’m Lee Hyun Jeong from South Korea. My last name is Lee. I think that Hyun Jeong is hard to say or write for English speaking person, so please just call me Lee. In South Korea, we learn American English. But I use British accent. I don’t want to change my accent. When I speak in English in class, my friends all laugh. I have no idea they’re laughing with me or laughing at me, but I guess they’re laughing at me. Do I have to change my accent? And please answer me wheater English speaker can understand different types of English accent or not.
Your british must be nice, that people are laughing at you because they are ignorant.
Continue using British accent, it´s the mother English… and probably most difficult than
american which is a simplification… And don´t care about different uk accents, To me it is also interesting australian accent and new zealand accent, but both very alike to british.
Congratulations and continue ahead with UK accent.

Hi Lee,
Native speakers will be able to understand any accent. Please don’t worry.
I’m sure you’re doing great. It’s never easy.
Kind regards,
Chris
