Learn English Grammar: English Conditionals Visual by Probability

Please have a look at this visual illustrating the English conditionals on a scale of probability:

Zero conditional: something generally true (“If you heat water, it boils.”)

First conditional: something that’s possible (“If I have time later, I’ll do some shopping.”)

Second conditional: something that’s very unlikely / unreal (“If it rained tomorrow, I’d stay inside.”)

Third conditional: describing something in the past that’s impossible (“If I had known, I would have told you.”)
